Part 1: Understanding the purpose of Vehicles/Mechs and imaginary engineering. In this video I'll be examining previously created sketches and explaining the choices made when approaching design at the conceptual stage.
This course is a basic yet thorough tutorial in how I approach vehicle/mech design for Games and Film. Topics include thumbnail sketching, imaginary engineering, idea-generation, making rough block models in Google SketchUp, sketching using block models, refining and detailing mesh, image compositing and illustration, detailing techniques in Adobe Photoshop, problem-solving, narrative, and orthogonal diagrams for purposes of modeling.
